Modal Shift in the Commute of Port Employees

The City of Antwerp has successfully introduced the "Smart Ways to Antwerp" program, designed to foster smarter and more sustainable commuting habits among employees and achieve long-term behavioural change.

As a partner in the PIONEERS consortium, the city now seeks to extend this proven approach to businesses in the port area. The goal is to implement targeted initiatives that encourage both employers and employees to adopt greener mobility choices—such as boosting cycling and developing extensive cycle path networks, as outlined in the masterplan for bicycle infrastructure.
