Maritime 5G for Intelligent Vessel Location

Maritime operations are often challenged by ship delays and outdated tracking systems, which can result in higher emissions, increased costs, safety risks, and reduced efficiency.

To overcome these issues, PIONEERS consortium partners CENIT (CIMNE) and the Port of Barcelona are collaborating on the Intelligent Vessel Location System. This demonstration integrates a 5G network, multi-camera setup, and AI algorithms to improve real-time vessel tracking and calculate exact ship positions with greater accuracy.
